We just published a few pictures from the first Encodo Networking Event of this year. After an apéro and a short demo about Quino’s modeled Methods, we went to the billiard hall near here.

 Encodo has released Quino 1.3.0.0 to licensed customers; since it’s Saint Patrick’s day, we’re calling this one the “shamrock release”! Big, new features include:

Version 1.5.2 of the Encodo C# Handbook is now available for download. It includes the following updates:

  • Expanded “8.1 – Documentation” with examples
  • Added more tips to the “2.3 – Interfaces vs. Abstract Classes” section
  • Added “7.20 – Restricting Access with Interfaces”
  • Added “5.3.7 – Extension Methods” and “7.17 – Using Extension Methods”

Encodo will be closed from December 22nd, 2008 to January 4th, 2009. We’re taking some time off to recharge and enjoy quality time, but will be back to work on January 5th, 2009.

Encodo’s got a lot of plants in the main office and some of them had either outgrown their pots or were standing on shaky ground (the dirt they stood in had dried out). So, we replanted a few of them and gave others some new dirt, while straightening them out at the same time. See for yourself how nice they look now!

An update to the Encodo C# Handbook is available! A few months ago, we published the first public edition of the Encodo C# Handbook. After working with Visual Studio 2008, .NET 3.5 and C# 3.0 some more, we’ve made many updates and made them available for download. Among the many changes are:

  • Added more tips for generic methods
  • Added tips for naming delegates and delegate parameters
  • Added rules for object and array initializers
  • Added rules and best practices for return statements
